Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions when booking a trip or retreat with Artist & Nomad; it contains important information regarding the trip you are purchasing including, but not limited to, our rights to postpone, cancel or alter the tour, our cancellation and refund policies, and a limitation of our liability and other important disclaimers. If you make a booking on behalf of other participants, you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept these Terms on behalf of the other participants in your party.
NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS: If we have to cancel the tour because of a lack of participants or any other reason unforeseen, your donation will be applied towards a future tour of your choice or you can choose to release the deposit as a donation towards our scholarship program.
If you have to cancel participation, there are no refunds or transfers and you must apply your travel insurance policy.
Agreement
The terms and conditions set forth in this document constitute the entire understanding and agreement between you the trip “Participant” and Artist&Nomad with respect to any and all bookings, tours, or transactions made with Artist&Nomad.
By making a booking, you accept all of the terms in this agreement and direct us to perform services on your behalf. All Travelers must be of 18 years of age or older to travel unless otherwise noted or by mutually agreed exception.
Once payments are sent (deposit and following payments for any trip booked), there is no refund available under any circumstances. Once you send payments, your funds are used to secure the group booking and cannot be returned.
There are no exceptions to this cancellation and refund policy, including for reasons related to weather, terrorism, pandemic, civil strife, personal, family or medical emergencies or any other circumstances beyond our control. For this and other reasons, we encourage you to purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance and travel protection. (i.e., travel medical insurance and emergency evacuation services). You should consider “no fault” cancellation and discuss this with your insurance provider.
Artist&Nomad is not responsible for expenses incurred by Participants in preparing for a trip (eg. nonrefundable advance purchase air tickets, equipment, etc.) or for any additional arrangements pre- or post-departure date. The term applies whether the tour is altered, modified, or cancelled by us or by you for any reason. Because the tour may be cancelled when a minimum number of Participants have not signed up, we recommend that you either purchase refundable air tickets or wait until we have confirmed with you approximately 3 months prior to the tour that we have a sufficient number of Participants.
Travel Insurance
You acknowledge that travel insurance coverage is not included in the cost of any trip or retreat offered by Artist&Nomad and you are required to obtain separate coverage at an additional cost. It is mandatory that all of Artist&Nomad guests are able to provide proof of current and adequate travel insurance. Travel insurance must cover personal injury, medical treatment, repatriation, and evacuation expenses, including helicopter rescue and air ambulance internationally. It is recommended that travel insurance also address personal property and trip cancellation coverage.
Trip cancellation insurance may be the only means of receiving reimbursement for flights and other non-refundable expenses should an Artist&Nomad trip be cancelled for any reason, whether voluntarily by you or as a result of Artist&Nomad’s actions. You are responsible for understanding the specifics of your travel insurance policy, ensuring that your policy covers all optional and included activities listed in the trip itinerary, and ensuring that there are no exclusion clauses (e.g., air delays due to mechanical issues) that would limit the coverage that you might reasonably need. If you have current health insurance coverage, check your insurance policy to see if it provides the coverage described above while traveling outside your country. It is your responsibility to verify your insurance policy details with your insurance provider to ensure Artist&Nomad’s requirements are satisfied. You also agree to assume all costs of medical care, evacuation, transportation, and related costs.
Traveler Risk and Responsibility
Artist&Nomad acts only as an intermediary for the various independent suppliers that provide lodging, meals, transportation, sightseeing, activities or other goods and services connected with your trip (“Supplier” or “Suppliers”). You acknowledge that you are aware and clearly understand that these Suppliers are independent contractors, are not managed by Artist&Nomad and are not agents or employees of Artist&Nomad. A Supplier’s services are subject to the Supplier’s own terms and conditions and the local laws and regulations of the relevant country.
Travelers further agree that they will indemnify and hold Artist&Nomad harmless in respect of any claims arising in connection with the trip made by: i) third parties, which arise from the misconduct of the travelers; ii) the traveler’s family members, dependants or heirs, iii) third parties, which the traveler, their estate, their family members, dependants or heirs have sued, if damages are recovered from such third parties, to the extent the third party obtains any indemnification from Artist&Nomad; except where the loss, injury, death or damage is caused by the reckless or fraudulent conduct on the part of Artist&Nomad, or their employees, guides, shareholders, officers or directors.
Force Majeure
Artist&Nomad will not be deemed in breach of this agreement or otherwise liable to you, by reason of delay in performance or nonperformance of any of its obligations under this agreement to the extent that any such delay or nonperformance is due to any Force Majeure. “Force Majeure” means any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Artist&Nomad, including without limitation acts of God, terrorist activities, insurrection, explosion, flood, tempest, forceful wind, fire or accident, war or threat of war declared or undeclared, sabotage, civil disturbance, labor strikes, requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions, and unforeseen circumstances.

It is important that you carefully read all trip-related documents that you receive from us by email as soon as you receive them, including your updated itinerary preparatory documents. It is your responsibility to contact us if any information is incorrect. We cannot accept any liability if you do not notify us of any inaccuracies within thirty (30) days of your receipt of those documents.
Trip Start Date
It is your responsibility to be ready to embark on the trip as specified in the itinerary. Artist&Nomad is not responsible for any losses due to cancelled or missed flights, changed flight itineraries, late arrivals, or early departures.
Passports and Visas
You are responsible for ensuring that all necessary travel documents are valid and effective and in your possession for the entire trip. Valid passports are required for travel to most destinations. Please check with the appropriate consulate or embassy for the latest entry requirements. You assume complete and full responsibility for, and hereby release Artist&Nomad from any duty of, checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements of each destination, and all safety or security conditions at such destinations. Any information provided to you is merely provided as a courtesy and it is your sole responsibility to ensure you have met all travel requirements for each destination in your itinerary. Artist&Nomad is not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellation costs due to incorrect, incomplete or expired traveler documents. In the event that you must cancel, delay or reschedule your trip due to expired or missing travel documentation, you are responsible for all associated costs to rectify the situation. If you are unable to join your trip, you will not be reimbursed or refunded any amounts as per the cancellation terms listed in this document.
Health Requirements and Medical Care
Some trips are physically active, with varying levels of demands and fitness requirements depending on the specific itinerary. By making a booking, you represent that you do not have any physical or other conditions that would create a hazard for you or other Participants or affect other people’s enjoyment of the trip.
We reserve the right in our sole discretion to accept, decline, or remove anyone from a trip (at departure or during the trip) who we judge to be incapable of meeting the trip’s physical demands.
In the event any medical care is administered to you during the trip, Artist&Nomad assumes no responsibility for any such medical care provided to you. You are solely responsible for any and all costs of medical care and related transportation, if any, that are provided to you during the trip.
Artist&Nomad does not tolerate drug use of any kind during our trips and strongly encourages responsible alcohol consumption, especially in any religious environments where cultural and community policies may dictate its absence. This policy is in place for your safety and those traveling with you. Artist&Nomad reserves the right, at your sole expense, to deny participation in an activity or in the remainder of any trip itinerary if you illegally use drugs, alcohol or other banned substances during a trip. We want you to have fun and encourage you to take advantage of the local culture, but Artist&Nomad emphasizes safety as a top priority.
Vaccinations
Artist&Nomad will give you information on the CDC recommended preparations for travel to your host country. This decision is up to you personally though we highly suggest following CDC recommendations. While Artist&Nomad does not require vaccination prior to departure, by proceeding with your booking, you are acknowledging that you will comply with the host country’s mandates and requirements.
Individuals will be responsible for ensuring they are able to travel to the destination selected. Countries have various entry requirements. You should be prepared to meet all necessary entry requirements.
Artist&Nomad will not be responsible for refunding any lost trip funds if you have to miss your scheduled trip as you cannot meet the requirements provided by Artist&Nomad or the country you are visiting. If you are worried about trip cancellation coverage, we recommend purchasing or upgrading your travel insurance to a “cancel for any reason” plan.
Trip Safety and Trip Etiquette
You must strictly comply with all local laws, respect local customs and culture, accurately assess your abilities, respect other trip members’ privacy, and follow the suggestions and advice of any assigned guide. The decision of Artist&Nomad, the local guide or local supplier is final on all matters that may threaten the safety or interfere with the well-being of others. During the trip, Artist&Nomad or the local guide or supplier has the right in its sole discretion to remove anyone a) who it judges to be incapable of meeting the demands and requirements of participating in the tour activities; or b) who it determines to detract from others’ enjoyment of the tour.
By making a booking, you certify your agreement to the following Traveler Code:
