The ANOU ARTISAN TOUR
May 14-23, 2025
Experience Morocco through the hospitality and creativity of Artisans impacting their communities through direct trade and advocacy.
The ANOU + ARTIST & NOMAD
The Anou Cooperative is an award winning collective of over 600 artisans from cooperatives, associations, and workshops across Morocco. The Anou Cooperative is owned and managed by Morocco's artisan community and is open to all authentic artisans committed to quality and transparency.
Kirsten, founder of ARTIST & NOMAD, has done two residencies with The ANOU and loves to bring Morocco travelers to participate in workshops on her tours. After seeing the impact of visiting artisans and taking workshops, she and the ANOU dreamed up this tour as a way to immerse travelers in a truly meaningful way to experience magical Morocco.
The Anou Cooperative selects the most motivated, brightest artisans across Morocco to help run the operations of the cooperative. This ensures that artisans have access to gaining skills mostly reserved for middlemen and foreigners. Two of these leaders, Kenza and Rachida, are leading this tour with Kirsten from ARTIST & NOMAD who is helping to coordinate all the details.
On the ANOU ARTISAN TOUR, you are being welcomed into the homes and communities of multiple artisans throughout the Atlas Mountain Region of Morocco. You will experience warm hospitality, participate in hands-on workshops to learn from various artisan groups, and grow in your understanding of the challenges artisans face through the ANOU model of direct trade and no middleman. You will experience the beauty of remote villages, devour delicious home cooked meals, and fill your hearts with wonder and beauty that will inspire you for a lifetime!
You participation on this trip will make a huge difference by supporting 8 artisan cooperatives on our journey. In addition, your fee includes a donation to fund a special artisan initiative with The ANOU (to be announced by the Artisan Leaders on the tour.)
Both men and women are welcome to join this tour. We are looking for adventurous travelers with open hearts, an eagerness to learn, and a desire to make a difference and positive impact in the world.
