Before the founding of the cooperative, the women used to work individually in their houses and made their own rugs which are rarely presented for sale. This made them think about setting up a cooperative that could allow them to work together and to exchange their experiences in the pursuit of valuing their products by sharing them with people all over the world. As the cooperative grew, other women joined and the cooperative hopes many more will join in the future
This beautiful wool flat weave hanbel has simple black stripes. This design is lightly brushed to give it an extra soft look and feel. The wool is sourced from the local community and the weaving was done on a vertical loom. This piece can be used as a blanket on furniture, the bed, or as a runner for the floor. The slight imperfections of this long lovely flat weave remind you of the hands that made it.
